Alma Ata Faculty of Computer and Engineering – A few months ago Google announced that the use of the passkeys feature will soon be available on Android and Chrome as a form of Google’s big effort to replace passwords (password less future) in the future.

Passkeys are unique digital keys that have advantages such as being easy to use, keeping secrets safer, never being stored on web servers, and remaining stored on users’ devices. The advantage of using passkeys is that it is much more secure, so hackers and crackers cannot steal passkeys as a form of data breach or trick the owner by disseminating data.

Face ID and Touch ID verification provide convenience and biometrics that we can achieve with iPhone. So you don’t need to buy another device, nor do you need to learn new habits.

Basically, passkeys are called public key cryptography. With passkeys as a private key, it will be a security feature on your device that will keep and keep secret inside the device you have, and there is a public key that goes to the web server. The existence of passkeys makes phishing impossible because you only authenticate using your device.

If you’re still using the best password manager to get complex, strong, even slightly difficult passwords for every online account you have, those passwords can still be cracked.
